Finally, a new beauty post! I can’t believe it’s been so long! I’m super excited for this one too because I’ve been collecting and trying out some new beauty products to review for you all for a while now. All of the products below are things that I’ve been lovin’ lately and I promise you will too. Let’s get into it!
MAC Lip Scrumptious
So funny thing – my mom had this product before I even knew it was a thing. She has the “Summer Berry” flavor (which is the purple container) and the first time I tried it I fell in love! It’s basically a sugar scrub for your lips and scraps all the dead skin and crusties off your puckers. In true “Gabby” form, I basically ran to the nearest MAC store and picked one up. I really wanted the “Sweet Brown Sugar” flavor but they were out so I settled for the “Sweet Vanilla” and I actually don’t regret it.
Disclaimer: I heard the other flavors that have dye in them can actually stain your lips if you leave them on too long… the Sweet Vanilla is clear so I don’t have to worry about that. (;
Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover
I’ve actually had this product for a long time because I received it as a sample, way back when. I started to use it more when I figured out it is a miracle worker for taking off the pesty lash glue that just won’t seem to come off of the lash line. When I tell you this stuff could probably remove the strongest of strongest lash glues… please believe me. It is an actual Godsend. It’s all I use to get my lashes off and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Why I mentioning it in this “New in Beauty” post is because I recently got a new and bigger version of the product. I’m sure it’ll last me more than a year and I got it for $16 bucks! BLESS.
C.E.O Rapid Flash Brightening Serum
Alright, here’s another product that I received as a sample. This product was one that I received in an Allure Beauty Box in January by accident… yeah, that’s an interesting story. Anyway, I love skincare and I’m always down to try something new so I tried it and now I’m obsessed. The product is vitamin C based and apparently vitamin C is crazy good for your skin (you learn something new every day, eh?) and this stuff goes on the skin so smooth, smells great, and literally makes my skin glow. I’m super impressed with how soft my skin feels after using this morning and night!
I expect this bottle not to last long so when it runs out I would love to get more but at $85 a bottle… I’ll pass. (Beauty Subscription boxes are the best and worst at the same time!!)
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation
Fenty, Fenty, Fenty… when I tell you that Rihanna DID. THAT. THANG. Hunty. Can we take a moment of silence for this foundation…
Needless to say, I love it. It’s the best. Nothing compares. I’ve literally never had a foundation match my skin and just melt into it until this foundation. If you are unsure of your shade and are a fellow brown-skin Queen like me, then for reference I am a 420 (I talked about wanting this foundation on this post so go check that out too!).
I highly recommend this foundation for any and everyone. It’s for sure my favorite and its super affordable!
One thing though: Does anyone else notice the sweet smell the foundation has or is it just me? I’ve gotten used to it now but when I first purchased it, it was almost nauseating… weird? I know.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist
So I heard about this product from my favorite beauty guru… can you guess her? Jaclyn Hill! Why is she my favorite? I honestly don’t know but her life is the bomb. Anyway, she basically compared the brow stylist to ABH’s brow definer and I’ve been lusting over the brow definer for like ever. I got it and, of course, love it.
The only thing I can say that I’m not exactly on board with is that it’s super dry and not creamy enough. I wish it glided on a little smoother but overall the product does a fantastic job. I can only imagine what the actual ABH brow definer does…
Morphe Highlight & Contour Sponge
So honestly I never thought that I would think another sponge would compare or even be better than my $20 Beauty Blender BUT I was wrong. This sponge by Morphe is the whole truth. It blends so much better than the Beauty Blender and it has so much more bounce to it. This is a hard one to explain but if you don’t trust anything else I say, trust this. It’s a must-have.
The Morphe brand also has two other sponges like the highlight & contour one that I haven’t tried. If they are anything like the one I have, I’m sure they’re keepers as well.
