Is it just me or is this year already flying by? Like dang, we are already almost into March and in a couple more months I’ll be graduating again and reaching my 1 year anniversary of Unbothered Style! It’s all flying by but I must say that i’m enjoying the ride. 2018 is the year of GLO-UP for me, I can just feel it.
There hasn’t been a legit GABFEST this year so I thought I’d kick one off this week! There’s a lot to discuss so let’s get into it.
Okay so if you haven’t been to see this movie just exit this blog post stage right because I am so disappointed in you! I’m just kidding but seriously, what is you doing? This has been a much-anticipated movie for a long time and it differently lives up to the hype!
Honestly, I’m a super-hero (specifically Marvel) fanatic so I already knew I’d love it. Marvel is just a great brand and makes such good, relatable movies and T.V. shows. Black Panther is honestly just so good. If you’re of African American decent then you know what this movie has done for our culture and how it’s united us. Some people won’t understand this and it’s not for everyone to understand. It just is what it is. The way the movie is told and how the actors act init just makes me so happy! Ugh. I wish I could type out my feelings a little better for this post but I cant! I’m just speechless.
Nonetheless, by the time this post is up, I will have gone to see the movie again for the second time and I have no shame. It’s so worth it.
Instagram vs. Blogging
This year I decided I was going to take blogging more seriously. I set a goal to at least post twice a month to my blog, keep my post fresh and meaningful, and commit to steady growth on my Instagram page. Well, what I didn’t know is that all those things take time, energy, and creativity and each one takes a lot of that individually!
Right now, I feel like I’m most focused on my Instagram page. I really want to create a nice aesthetic and super quality photos. I think most of my blog traffic is coming from Instagram and Pinterest. Also, since I launched my merch store (You didn’t know? Visit my store HERE!) I need a place to promote, and I think Instagram is the perfect place for that.
The point is, it’s hard not to want to focus all my attention on one platform. For me, Instagram can be so much easier and allows me to take cool photos which I love to do. This year, I’m trying to find the balance. If you keep up with me and all my channels of social media then you might tell. Overall, I’m trying to put out the best content I can. On my blog, on my social media, and in life. So… we’ll see how this goes.
If you’re a blogger reading this how do you deal? What keeps you balanced?
Unbothered Style Merch?!
Well, If you didn’t know you’re about to… I launched my online merchandise store for Unbothered Style! You can now go to the navbar and go to the shop page to shop some of my Unbothered Merch for this season! This has been a goal for quite some time for me and I’m so happy I found a way to make it come to life this year! I really want to establish my brand and grow Unbothered Style in every avenue that I can.
In my store, you’ll be able to find an assortment of dad hats, a coffee mug, and sweatshirts & tees! These are all some of the things I love for everyday wear and I really wanted to share them with you all in this way.
Below you can see a peek at how I wear some of the merch!
I Have a Question…
If you’re here and still reading this post then I think you deserve a little treat. I have a question for you…
Have you ever prayed for something and gotten something that resembled what you asked for but you’re not sure if it’s really what you wanted? For example, let’s say you really really really want some fruit… so you search and pray for any type of fruit and then one day you end up with a tomato and someone says “Hey look, there’s your fruit!” but it’s not what you expected at all. In most cases, you didn’t even know it was a fruit until you did further research… but your prayers were answered in a way, right? Even though it’s not what you wanted exactly and it surely doesn’t taste like what you wanted, it is indeed a version of what you asked for… does this make sense? It might not, but my point is, if you pray about something, and get a version of it that you didn’t necessarily expect, do you take it as a test or an answered prayer?
When I say “test” I mean… do you believe that God puts things in our lives to see what we do with them? Like he throws us a curve ball to see if we’ll overcome it? Or do you believe that he is an all intentional God and that nothing is done that doesn’t have a strict purpose in your life?
BUT. Maybe those “tests” are really just the devil working?
We’ll discuss this topic further in my next blog post…
Until Next Time –
