I’m back with another Gabfest post! I actually look forward to these because they require little to no effort. Just a brain blast of everything that’s on my mind that week or month. I won’t mumble too long with a lengthy introduction so let’s jump right into the juicy stuff…

Okay, so I feel like I need a hair column on my blog because it’s always a topic of discussion for some reason. If you are hip to what’s been going on with me the last month then you know I’ve had pink/rose gold hair! YOU GUYS. When I tell you this has been my favorite hairstyle I’ve ever done in my life, I mean it. The gag is… I made the wig myself and it’s given me a whole new taste of my capabilities and what I want to do next. I’m already thinking about the next wig I’m going to make.

I love bold hair colors and playing around with different looks. I’m in a unique position in my life to be able to get away with this without too much judgment. Of course, there is judgment but not from work or things like that. It’s just easier.

Nonetheless, it’s time for me to give it up, for now. I’m ready to have a new hairstyle but I hope I can bust this wig out again at some point. Maybe a different color… blue? STAY TUNED.

God will show you the way

Sometimes the workings of God surprise me so much. It’s crazy what blessing you can see come your way when you let go of bad, negative energy and fully change your mind to be Christ-driven.

I will admit that for a couple of months I had lost my way. And the crazy thing is… I was completely aware of it. I knew what I was doing was bad and what I was saying was bad. My profanity increased, my criticism of others increased, and the overall regard for myself and others had definitely decreased. I was aware of this but I couldn’t seem to let go of the people/things that were enabling me to do those things.

Just recently I finally decided to let someone in my life go. A person that was so negative and so toxic that when I finally decided to let them go, I was actually relieved. I’m not going to give this person unneeded attention because they aren’t important in the grand scheme of things but my revelation was so powerful and intense, I had to share.

Listen, right after this happened I literally felt a shift in my life. Things started to look different and feel different. I was happier and just a few days later I got a very important call about a job interview… I say all of this to say, Listen to God and where he is directing you! Don’t ignore him.

Sometimes we get in our minds that we like what may be going on in our lives, but is that really what God wants for you? Are you following his words and vision for you? Just think about that and where you are in your life right now. Because what you’re doing and who your associating with might seem like what you want now, but God’s way can be so much better.

New Shows I’m OBSESSED with!

Y’all know I’m a sucker for a good series, right? If not, check out my post about my Top 10 favorite Netflix Shows. Honestly, I probably should update that post because I have come across some GREAT shows the last few months and I want to tell you all about them so you can watch too.

Okay first up, Game of Thrones… I did not think I would like this show (the first season is kind of slow) because of the medieval time’s vibe and what not. To my lovely surprise, this show is a must watch. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE! I won’t go too much in depth with these shows i’m about to mention (I’m not one for spoilers) but just know it’s not a manly show or anything like that. It’s much more involved and really tells an interesting story. Trust me, if you get into it, you’ll be hooked and totally invested.

My unborn children may or may not be named Dany and Jon… That’s all I’ll say.

Ozarks was the show I binged watch right after GoT. I was going through withdrawals and needed something to fill the void so I started this show. It did not disappoint and it’s definitely one of the better shows on Netflix (even though Netflix has been coming out with some BOMB Netflix Originals).

A quick synopsis: a man and his family get thrusts into laundering money for the Mexican cartel. There’s a lot of twists and turns that come with this but the storyline and plot are really great. WATCH THIS SHOW! Please?

My most recent obsession that I started a few days ago is Queen Sugar which comes on Oprah’s network. I thought this show would be similar to other shows that are on the OWN channel like The Haves and the Have Nots or If Loving You is Wrong but to my surprise (yet again!) this show has so much depth and is honestly just good writing. They’re only in Season 2 so if you like series that are already completed then this show won’t be for you but it’s totally worth starting. I love drama filled shows that keep me on my toes so Queen Sugar is a no-brainer.

A quick synopsis: Three kinda estranged siblings have to come together on their father’s sugar cane farm after a tragic accident. They are left running the farm but some twists and turns in all of their lives make this a little difficult.

And that’s it! This GABFEST is a WRAP! Did you like it? Did ya, Did ya? We ain’t done yet, keep on reading!

Hey Gabby, I love your hair, your attitude and I love your blog. I took out a purple and blue and black sew in and I miss it! When I get the funds, I’m going to have my stylist make a wig. Your give away is awesome and it is giving me some ideas to make my own. You definitely hit the nail on the head when you mentioned letting toxic people go. I freed myself from a person awhile back and my whole attitude shifted. I’m facing that challenge but in a job. I know money shouldn’t be a factor, but I am so done with being at the mercy of a job that cares less about my family. Keep writing girl, you are amazing!

Thank you for commenting! I have always believed that family and our individual sanity will always come before a job. I hope you find clarity soon on what do do about your job!

Wigs are also amazing and I recommend it to everyone! You’ll love it for real. Thanks again for reading XO
